The Hans® device is proven to perform significantly better than any other head and neck restraint!

The Hans® is easy to wear and use. With a device specifically chosen to fit you and your vehicle, using the Hans® is as simple as wearing your helmet and putting your shoulder belts on over the device when you buckle up. The Hans device is designed to work with any SNELL – approved racing helmet and race approved racing harness. There are several basic Hans® models developed to suit different seat angles, with sizes to suit nearly everyone.

The Hans® device is the only head and neck support trusted and required by NASCAR®, Formula 1, GP2, Champ car, ALMS, World Rally, IROC and others. The Hans device is SFI approved and it is the only head and neck restraint approved to FIA standards.

Hans Devices to Borrow or Lease

Given the interest generated recently from the Hans devices donated by Gavin Riches, there appears to be two levels of interest. First is the casual user, who only wants the use of one for the Targa event they enter. Second is the regular competitor who wants to use them for Targa and other events also. With this in mind we have two options available to competitors. The only cost, which will be constant for either user, will be the Helmet Posts if required. These are approximately $130,-.

For the Casual User

The Hans device will be collected at the start of each event and returned at the end of each event. These units will be available at no charge. A record of the unit serial number will be retained in a register and you will be responsible for the unit while in your care.

For the Regular Competitor

The Hans device will be leased and the HANS can stay in your possession. Upon completion of all lease payments, the unit will be yours to keep and a new HANS’s device will be purchased to replenish the stock of loan units available. In this case, the terms and conditions of agreement as per below applies for you.

Necksize

We have 14 Size Medium and 6 Size Large devices. The width of the HANS® collar is sized to fit your neck or shirt collar size.

When neck or shirt collar size is 15 to 18 Inches    - Size Medium (M)

When neck or shirt collar size is over 18 Inches     - Size Large (L)
