ABOUT CURE KIDS
Cure Kids was established over 35 years ago to address the lack of research into life-threatening childhood illnesses in New Zealand. During that time we have invested over $26 million in vital medical research. This research has helped save many young lives and improved the quality of life for thousands of children. Over the years Cure Kids has funded research advancements in diseases such as childhood Leukaemia, Long QT Syndrome, Cystic Fibrosis, cot death, genetic research, and severe asthma. Today, we are more committed than ever to help find answers to the many cruel, life-threatening illnesses that devastate the lives of young children and their families. WWW.CUREKIDS.ORG.NZ

“Targa NZ and Cure Kids relationship dates back to 2002 when a competitor suggested that we get a charity involved with the event. Cure Kids was the perfect fit with Targa given the number of people and communities involved throughout the country, an alignment with a single cause was far too narrow and we are all too aware that children with life-threatening illnesses live in every community in New Zealand. Since we started out together we have raised more than $470,000.00 to assist with the ongoing research into life threatening illnesses that affect children. It has been extremely rewarding to see the children who have benefited from Cure Kids work, so we are proud to continue our association with this wonderful organization.” Peter Martin, Event Director, Targa New Zealand
“Since 2002 Cure Kids has been a big part of the full-on, breathtaking action that is Targa NZ. We have been participants of the race as well as the nominated charity for the event and have raised a phenomenal amount of money for research into life-threatening illnesses that affect our Kiwi kids.
Along the way, many of our ambassadors who live with some very serious illnesses have enjoyed the excitement of being out on the road, in the passenger’s seat and met the fantastic people of Targa New Zealand who are making a very real difference to help find cures for kids like them. We’re so excited to be supported by Targa NZ again this year.” – Nicola Brockie, Fundraising & Event Manager, Cure Kids.
